Job Description

HOURS: Part Time (0.5 FTE; 20hrs/wk); occasional weekend/evening hours as necessary to reach intended audiences. This position is grant funded.

POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees development and implementation of trauma informed education and initiatives for the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Lead trauma informed training and consulting services for the organization, providing training and networking opportunities to health, mental health and other community based partner organizations, culturally specific organizations, and/or social services organizations.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs that facilitate professional development and continuous learning about trauma and resilience, including a train-the-trainer program.
  • Coordinate professional development including on-going training for trained Trauma Informed facilitators, ensuring competency of educators.
  • Coordinate a team of trauma trainers.  Identifies and evaluates external resources as needed.
  • Develop and provide general community education related to trauma, i.e. “Trauma 101” sessions.
  • Serve as expert consultant on trauma and resilience, providing guidance in areas that include assessment, development, evaluation, leadership, and facilitation.
  • Provide or oversee trauma informed assessment, coaching and mentoring programs and services to leaders, physicians and employees as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement plan for delivering trauma informed training throughout Lancaster County. 


  • Bachelor's degree in business, social work, or health care related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in trauma education and training.
  • Professionally certified trainer, facilitator, or practitioner in trauma field.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, inter-generational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
  • Ability to demonstrate effective skills in group facilitation, managing teams/groups, organizational dynamics, and consensus building.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to a broad range of audiences.
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a broad range of community partners.
