This position is located in Lancaster, Pa

HOURS: Day shift

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides supervision to assigned staff by overseeing responsibilities, investigations, assuring maximum use of manpower and equipment, assist with coordinating parking, leading security situations, and the ability to perform all duities assigned to the Security Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Responds to security service requests to resolve emergency and non-emergency situations. Manages security situations by allocating manpower and other resources to assure a swift and proper response.
  • Investigates and reports security violations and abuse of hospital equipment and property to proper authorities.
  • Coordinates the follow-up to crime with other shifts and with administration to assure the proper response to security situations.
  • Trains and coordinates training of new officers on individual shifts.
  • Coordinates and schedules security personnel to assure adequate coverage, and resolves conflicts directly,
  • Reports disciplinary requirements to the Security Manager, performs employee reviews, reviews security documents for completeness, complete time and attendance, hold required security briefings, and have knowledge of CCTV system.
  • Assists with coordinating parking for employees, visitors and patients with special parking needs.
  • Maintains security equipment as necessary and makes recommendations to the Security Manager for equipment replacement or repair.
  • In the absence of the Security Manager, and as directed by the Assistant Vice President, Customer Support Services, assumes the Security Manager position to make security decisions that assure all standard operating procedures and guidelines are followed by all staff members.
  • Collects parking tickets and assist to assures proper follow-up to repeat offenders as guided by the parking policy and HR-104.
  • Other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Six (6) years of law enforcement/security, or a four (4) year college degree in a related field is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two (2) years of management/supervision is required.
