Summary

POSITION SUMMARY: The Summer Law Clerk will assist the attorneys in LG Health’s Legal Services Department on various matters related to the operations of an extensive community healthcare system.  The Summer Law Clerk will be involved with hospital contracting, including drafting contracts with different vendors, service providers, and physicians.  The Summer Law Clerk will also be exposed to issues involving healthcare operations, including regulatory compliance, policy drafting, analysis of complex patient issues, including consent and decision-making, and analysis of ethical issues in healthcare.  The Summer Law Clerk will be responsible for providing legal research and completing projects as directed by the in-house attorneys.        

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Perform research and draft memos on a variety of legal issues as they arise.
  • Assist in the contracting process, including reviewing and drafting.
  • Assist with various projects as directed by members of the Legal Services Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Completed 2L year of law school.
