POSITION SUMMARY: The Front End Revenue Cycle Trainer is responsible for the development of training programs related to eHealth, reporting software, and any other third party software integrated with billing and site operations. This position is expected to conduct training sessions and to participate in front desk training specific to site policies and procedures regarding scheduling, registration, time of service collections, cash management, and charge entry tasks, along with training for all business office functions related to third party billing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Assess and identify training needs specific to site operations, specifically those that have an impact to the revenue cycle.
  • Provide recommendations for the development and maintenance of revenue cycle policies and procedures related to, but not limited to, operations of eHealth.
  • Oversees course content and learning experiences relevant to identified areas of need, participant learning styles and adult learning theory via interaction and collaboration with the system administrators/applications analysts, Information Services Department staff, vendor and other team members. 
  • Serve as liaison between sites and IS department / College by providing feedback regarding issues and concerns.   Work with Information Technology trainers and/or Staff Instructors to ensure development and maintenance of specific training materials associated with training programs for eHealth.
  • Participate in both group and one-on-one revenue cycle training for staff, managers, and clinicians employed by the sites.
  • Work in conjunction with one or more Information Technology trainers and/or Staff Instructors to implement training objectives.
  • Provide feedback to directors and managers on ongoing training objectives, further development for staff and/or software, and creative ideas for continued growth and stability related to staff and site management utilization.
  • Collaborate closely with PBS/PFS to identify training needs, assess A/R rejections and denials, negative payer trends, and provide education and feedback to employees and management for appropriate action, including training agenda materials.
  • Maintain appropriate level of knowledge of revenue cycle process as well as the eHealth software by continuous vendor training and third party education (e.g. payers, seminars, etc.).
  • In cooperation with Front End Manager Revenue Cycle, provide new employee training materials, activities, and assessments.

Implementation/ Go-live Phase:

  • Participate in application environment configuration based on e-Health project needs.
  • Provides operational expertise to ensure training programs are relevant and will prepare staff for implementation. 
  • Provides operational subject matter expertise to IS/e-Health implementation teams; becomes an expert in the applications and their optimization at the departmental level from a workflow and revenue cycle perspective.
  • Assist with the execution of the project plan for the implementation of hardware, software, networks, physical site, training, and test environments.
  • Works with departmental staff and training manager to develop, implement, and support the certified trainer and e-Squad Pro Program.

Post-Implementation/ Go-live Phase:

  • Provides end user assistance with problem solving and troubleshooting of simple and intermediate issues at the technical and application levels.  Escalates complex issues as necessary.
  • Analyzes and assesses front end workflows and processes.  Provides recommendation for best–practice workflow processes supported by e-Health.  Advocates for changes in functionality based upon opportunities identified at the department level.
  • Recommends solutions and implements educational and training strategies that lead to the optimization of the application and transformation of front end & clinical workflows at the departmental level. 
  • Provides Level 1 and 2 support.  Works with applications analysts to coordinate any Level 3 support with the vendor.  Level support is defined as:

I:          Class Room support/ responsibilities

II:         1:1 training/ at the elbow support

III:       MST/ Environment support

  • This includes vendor management issues as well as coordination with IS technical staff and users during problem resolution and or software, hardware and database upgrades.  This includes providing timely answers and maintaining the FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) list if applicable.
  • Acts as a liaison with the Help Desk to provide end user support.
  • Supports sites by working specified work queues, and providing one-on-one training to end users on work queues outside of the site setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must obtain internal EPIC credentialing within (1) year of role entry.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (Training and Development, Business, Computer Science, Nursing, Adult Education or   area of specialty) or approved combination of education and experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in a clinical care setting.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with departmental operations and workflows.
  • Two (1) years of experience in providing end user support and training in a clinical care setting.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels of management.
  • If applicable - A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.
  • Extensive knowledge of physician or hospital practice front desk, registration and referrals operations.
  • Must be an intermediate to extensive PC user, and be able to maintain (create, edit, professional output) Microsoft Office products efficiently (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Ability to clearly articulate administrative processes for policy implementation.
  • Must be able to define meaningful cause and effect situations related to training objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years of experience in a clinical care setting.
  • Five (5) years of experience in training delivery.
  • Five (5) years of experience in providing end user support.
  • Two (2) years of experience in curriculum.
  • Two (2) years of experience in training evaluation.
