Summary

Location: This position is located in Lancaster, Pa

HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide major and minor equipment and furniture planning, acquisition and project management services to all departments for new, expansion, renovation or relocation projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Lead multi-disciplined work groups in the development of equipment and furniture needs assessment and budget plan.

  • Coordinate development of specification for equipment and furniture utilizing internal and external resources to identify requirements and standards available.

  • Provide equipment specifications and cut sheets to Facilities Management and/or architects/planners necessary to support design and construction planning.

  • Conduct competitive bids within established guidelines, where applicable. Coordinate review of bids with project work group; award business and issue Purchase Orders to the marketplace.

  • Develop and implement schedules and services for equipment and furniture installation and delivery, coordinating with Facilities Management Project Manager and other necessary internal and external resources, to assure project timelines are supported to successful outcomes.

  • Develop and publish reports on project activities and status, assuring effective communication throughout all stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple projects and develop resources (both internal and external) to resolve any conflicting requirements for resources and services.

  • Attend all project planning meetings.

  • Update budgets and track and report status and any corrective actions required.

  • Coordinate capital and equipment requisitions with Senior Buyer to identify project related activities and balance non-project related equipment purchase needs.

  • Work with furniture and equipment suppliers to identify current technology standards and trends and identify opportunities to assess new technologies and selections.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • BA, BS or equivalent 4 year preferred.
  • Minimum three years experience in Purchasing/Materials Management as a Buyer with specific experience handling capital equipment and furniture.
  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years related business experience in hospital settings.
