Summary

Job Description

HOURS: Full Time (1.0 FTE; 40hrs/wk) Monday - Friday, day shift, early mornings occasionally. No holidays or weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:  This position works under limited direction from the Employee Well-being Supervisor to lead the implementation and facilitation of health promotion programs for all populations within LGH and the corporate community. Additionally, this position manages day to day tasks within the well-being platform and monitors current programs for employees. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate and facilitate various health promotion programs for various employee populations, including wellness presentations, behavior change programs, and onsite well-being events.
  • Provide health coaching and care navigation services to diverse populations in group and 1:1 settings.
  • Assess group and individual needs and recommend/refer to appropriate and available resources and programs.
  • Provide ongoing support to the wellness champions across the health system
  • Responsible for oversight of development and implementation of wellness platform vendor services and aligned communication efforts.
  • Develop educational programs and communications for all populations using appropriate age and culturally competent teaching strategies.
  • Assist with development and delivery of quarterly presentations to leaders.
  • Collect program data for reporting outcomes and communicate experiences back to appropriate team members.
  • Educate other team members on specific wellness topics and health education processes to ensure delivery of quality programs.
  • Serve as a well-being resources for employees.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Represent LG Health at community, corporate and marketing events.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, preparing and staffing health screenings.
  • Respond professionally to employee inquiries including independently researching individual cases, question and escalating issues as they arise.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to standardize quality services and programs.
  • Provide written articles and media request about health and prevention for LG publications, website and community media organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or related field or current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Three (3+) years in health education & teaching.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with public speaking to a wide range of audiences and diverse populations: executives to staff level. Group and 1:1.
  • Program development and program administration experience.
  • Ability to travel locally and to neighboring counties.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters in Health Education or Public Health.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
  • Certification in Health Coaching.
  • Previous experience in wellness, prevention and health promotion education.
  • Experience working with adults.
