Summary

Clinical Nurse Educators at Lancaster General Health are often found collaborating with the nursing leadership team, Clinical Nurse Specialists and the nursing staff.  Under the direction of the Director of Professional Development and Clinical Excellence, the Clinical Educator provides instruction in the Emergency Department through teaching, mentoring, coaching and advising.  They collaborate with stakeholders to determine educational needs/competencies related to department specific initiatives.  They participate and assist in the facilitation of the department’s orientation program.    The Nursing Professional Development Team is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of LGH professionals.

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time evening shift Clinical Educator to support our Emergency Department. Hours would include 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri evening shift including 23-03 coverage with varied shift start and end times to meet those needs. No holidays. Two weekends a year.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher level nursing degree is required. MSN preferred on hire & will be required within 2.5 years of hire.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • Three (3) years of clinical or educational healthcare experience is required (ED experience required).                  
  • Two (2) years of application toward adult learning in an informal setting is required.
  • Two (2) years of formal classroom teaching is preferred.
  • Two (2) years developing educational activities is preferred.
  • Certification in relevant specialty is preferred.  
  • One to two (1-2) programs/year, showing evidence of ongoing continuing education is preferred.
  • Experiences in multiple functions within an organization is preferred
