Job Description

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Chief of Neurosurgery who will create and implement a vision for advanced neurosurgical services aligned with the Penn Medicine strategy to deliver quality care and outstanding outcomes as a regional leader in Central Pennsylvania. Serves as the executive clinical leader for all inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical services at Lancaster General Health, including Lancaster General Hospital, a 602-bed not-for-profit hospital ranked the fourth-best hospital in Pennsylvania by US News & World Report in 2022. Facilities at Lancaster General Health include a level one trauma center, a cancer institute, and a newly constructed proton therapy center.

The Chief is responsible for integration with the Penn Medicine Neurosciences Service Line and Department of Neurosurgery in collaboration with an administrative team, and will be eligible for a Penn Neurosurgery faculty appointment.  Provides oversight of all aspects of care delivery, including clinical research, and will demonstrate the leadership skills, activities, and behaviors to drive personal/team accountability, performance improvement, and a high reliability organization.

As a full-time Board-Certified Neurosurgeon, the Chief will join and lead a regional neurosurgery practice consisting of six neurosurgeons, two interventional physiatrists who practice as part of a five-physician service line, and six advanced practice clinicians, all collaboratively working to provide treatment and quality patient care. The practice’s neurosurgeons are skilled in general and trauma neurosurgery and includes specialists in complex spine surgery, neurointerventional surgery, and neurosurgical oncology.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic)
  • Completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency
  • Possess or able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License
  • Board Certified
