Assistant Nurse Managers at Lancaster General Health are often found collaborating with their Nurse Manager, colleagues, peers and members of the inter-disciplinary team to deliver a holistic approach to patient care.  Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care, and provides input into the development and evaluation of patient care.  Assistant Nurse Managers have the opportunity to participate in clinical and organizational improvement huddles, and influence nursing practice within their nursing unit and the health system. 

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Admissions Transfer Unit (ATU) & 3 West Medical/Surgical team.   The 17 bed Admission Transfer Unit helps to eliminate access barriers for our ED and improve the patient's experience during the admission process. 3 West, a 22 bed nursing unit, provides care to a variety of Medical/Surgical patients, including patients with a cardiac focus. The Assistant Nurse Manager will provide support and be a resource to the staff, while focusing on quality and safety initiatives on 3 West and patient access/throughput on ATU. This individual will have some flexibility regarding their schedule, working full-time with some off-shift hour obligations at the discretion of the Nurse Manager, and will share in some of the on-call responsibilities.  The ATU and 3 West staff are very engaged and dedicated to teamwork and promoting a supportive work environment on two very fast paced nursing units

  • Must have current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher level nursing degree is required.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience in related clinical field required (med/surg); 5 years preferred
  • One (1) year of leadership experience required; 3 years preferred.
