Job Description

HOURS: Full Time (1.0 FTE)

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for development and oversight of operations, marketing and strategic planning for the Pediatric Service Line.  Reporting to the Executive Director of Women and Pediatrics, the director is responsible for supporting the financial performance, quality outcomes and continuous improvement to meet targeted medical, clinical and operating outcomes for the defined populations within the service line. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Working under the oversight of the executive director, leads the development and planning for increasing market share, meet market needs and delivering care to the defined populations and associated clinical operations across the health system.
  • Oversees a diverse array of administrative functions, including special projects and implementation of key strategic operational and/or clinical initiatives for children. Develops standardized tools and approaches for children’s service line development, structure and performance measurement aligned with other service lines and as directed by the Service Line Executive and Physician Leadership.
  • Evaluates the performance of various functions, departments, services and products for the pediatric population against approved objectives and plans.  Works collaboratively with Operational Leadership to take appropriate corrective action as needed. 
  • Supports the achievement of short and long term goals that will drive the success of the service line and assures approved programs, services, products or new business ventures are executed successfully. 
  • Influences budgets and capital planning, facilitates through collaboration with Executive and Medical Leadership of the service lines all pediatric capital equipment expenditure requests and recommends for approval, monitors performance and analyzes financial data for assigned services and programs.  Develops and prepares reports for tracking performance.
  • Manages the day to day operations of assigned areas, such as Healthy Beginnings, Nurse Family Partnership and Child Life Specialists. 
  • Works in collaboration with JV Partners and Nursing Administration to direct care plans and service development in all pediatric areas (including NICU).
  • Facilitates with the service line teams customer experience activities demonstrating effective customer relations and develops a strong understanding of customer needs, trends and preferences.   

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Along with other leaders, represents LGHealth in the community, promoting services and capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Five (5) years experience in strategic planning and/or operational leadership preferably in pediatrics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare administration or related field
  • Three (3) years of service line or equivalent leadership experience (personnel management, P&L responsibility).
  • Five (5) years of progressive management experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in managing complex strategic projects or healthcare departments.
